Google Earth Application
A Google Earth aplication was produced allowing to visualize in greater facility all the georeferentiated elements of water infraestructures and agricultural types, identified for Lisbon Metropolitan Area in 1900 and 1940. A partial view of such aplication is here available. Further acess and information on this application should be requested to DINÂMIA'CET-IUL and IN+, Teresa Marat-Mendes (DINÂMIA'CET-IUL) and Samuel Niza (IST-IN+).
Web Mapping Application
A webmap was produced allowing to visualize the territorial, urban and rural typological elements of the end of the XIX century and compare to the current territorial organization of the LMA.
This webmap was produced at IN+ with Data worked at DINÂMIA'CET-IUL. It includes data on water elements and different types of crops for Lisbon Metropolitan Area in 1900 and 1940.
The cartographic source for 1900 was 'Carta dos Arredores de Lisboa' (CEM, 1893-1932), acquired from Direcção Geral do Território. The cartographic source for 1940 was 'Carta Militar de Portugal' acquired from Instituto Geográfico do Exército.
The WebMap provides a quick visualization of the assessment that had been done in terms of agricultural types of production, different water infrastructures and also different types of farms. A partial print of the developed webmap is shown below:
